30 years of medical aid: our foundation marks an important milestone
For 30 years, the International Charitable Foundation “Contribution to Medicine Development” has supported patients, hospitals, and communities across Ukraine with medical aid, even in times of deep crisis. Over three decades, the foundation has grown from a small initiative into a key partner for Ukrainian and international organizations, coordinating medicines, equipment, and mobile medical teams. Its programs focus especially on hospitals near the front line, internally displaced people, and vulnerable groups such as children, older people, and patients with chronic diseases. Together with partners from Ukraine, Switzerland, Germany, the USA, Croatia, and other countries, the foundation continues to strengthen healthcare and support recovery throughout the country.
Our milestons
On 4 June 2026, the International Charitable Foundation “Contribution to Medicine Development” celebrates 30 years of serving patients, hospitals, and communities in Ukraine. Over three decades, the foundation has grown from a small initiative into a reliable partner for medical institutions and humanitarian organizations, helping people access treatment even in times of crisis. This anniversary is not only a date, but also a moment to honor the thousands of supporters, volunteers, and partners who have made continuous medical aid possible.
Founded in 1996, the International Charitable Foundation “Contribution to Medicine Development” has adapted to many challenges, from reforms in the health system to the ongoing war and the full-scale invasion. Step by step, the team has expanded its work from one-off donations to comprehensive programs that combine medical aid, humanitarian support, and longer-term recovery projects. Today, the foundation coordinates international and Ukrainian partners, supplies medicines and equipment, supports mobile medical teams, and develops patient-centered initiatives in different regions of the country.
In recent years, the foundation’s programs have focused especially on hospitals near the front line, internally displaced people, and vulnerable groups such as children, older people, and patients with chronic diseases. Through projects like Free Medical Consultations, the Humanitarian Hub, Good for People, and Charity Medicines, the foundation delivers essential medicines, diagnostic support, and humanitarian assistance to those who need it most. None of this would be possible without a strong network of partners from Ukraine, Switzerland, Germany, the USA, Croatia, and other countries who trust the foundation’s transparent, needs-based approach.
“Thirty years ago, we could not foresee the scale of today’s challenges—but we also could not foresee how many people would stand with us,” says the foundation’s leadership team. “Every delivery of medicines, every medical consultation, and every supported hospital is the result of shared effort. We are grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey.”
As the International Charitable Foundation “Contribution to Medicine Development” enters its fourth decade, it remains committed to strengthening medical aid, supporting recovery and rebuilding, and increasing the resilience of Ukraine’s healthcare system.
